Imperial Property Company

The Royal York Hotel is owned by Max Hotels (York) Ltd. This company is part of the Imperial Property group of companies which was founded in 1997 by Nick and Ayse Sutton.

The Managing Director of Imperial is Nick Sutton, who trained as an accountant and member of the institute of taxation with Arthur Andersen before working for a Middle Eastern bank and setting up Crown Dilmun, a property development company, for them.

In addition to becoming 'Young Property Person of the Year 2002' Nick Sutton also become the first developer to build a serviced apartment business in the UK. He specialises in projects which are both unique and of exceptionally high standards - The Royal York Hotel is no exception to that ethos.
